Japanese Red Clay Small Bowl

$50.00
DETAILS

Made from red earthenware and handcrafted by skilled artisans, this small bowl features natural firing marks around the rim and base. The exterior is hand-painted in red overglaze, while the inside uses the traditional Japanese Kohiki technique, creating a soft, slightly greyish white surface that highlights the natural colours of food.

Its compact size is ideal for pickles, appetisers and other small dishes, or for enjoying sake. The gently raised foot adds an elegant presence to the table.

Its shape is inspired by the calyx of a bottle gourd, a traditional Japanese symbol of happiness and good fortune.
