DETAILS

Handcrafted in Tochigi, Japan from kanchiku, a thin bamboo with distinctive purple stems. Round, shallow and compact, it's the right size for fruit, small vegetables or snacks on the bench, or for keeping small things like accessories tidy in one place.

The base sits slightly raised, so it also works beside the sink for drying small cups and cutlery.

Kanchiku changes with time. The purple slowly turns green or a deep brown, so it keeps changing as you use it.
