KOME-NO-MEGUMI Candles (Set of 12)

$40.00
DETAILS

“KOME-NO-MEGUMI” means “the blessing of rice” in Japanese. Rice has been an important part of Japanese life for centuries. These candles are made from rice bran wax and burn for about 30 minutes — perfect for brewing a cup of coffee, listening to music, or simply enjoying a quiet moment of relaxation.

The flame burns bright and steady, thanks to a traditional wick made from dried reed wrapped around a washi-paper core. With their plant-based materials, these candles also produce less soot and smoke for a cleaner burn.

Candle stand not included; we recommend pairing with the Takazawa KOMA Cast Iron Candle Stand - Small

Plant-Based Materials

These candles are made from plant-based wax like sumac, rice bran, and canola oil. They are eco-friendly, burn cleanly, have a light natural wax scent, and produce little smoke or odor.

Unique Wick Crafting

The candle wick is made by wrapping dried rush (a plant from the Juncaceae family) around a wooden or bamboo stick covered with rolled washi paper. The hollow wick allows air to flow and absorbs melted wax efficiently, creating a large, flickering flame.
